The East Kootenay Foundation for Health is a registered charitable organization. Through donations, the Foundation strives to ensure the East Kootenay Regional Hospital and other community hospitals & health care facilities are equipped with vital, leading-edge medical equipment, patient comforts and furnishings.


  • The East Kootenay Foundation for Health is seeking a dynamic and strategic visionary for the position of Executive Director. Reporting to the Chair of the Board, the Executive Director will:
  • Establish goals and objectives to meet the philanthropic needs of the region based on input from the Board of Directors and Interior Health
  • Develop and implement annual, planned and memorial giving programs, capital campaigns and special events
  • Identify and actively develop collaborative relationships with major donors, including individuals, corporations and community organizations
  • Develop a broad range of fundraising strategies
  • Generate content to effectively communicate through written materials, outreach and social media initiatives
  • Direct all Foundation administrative functions, including formulating and recommending policy to the Board of Directors and working in coordination with the Financial Officer
  • The foundation is seeking a results oriented professional with a proven track record in sourcing new funding and revenue opportunities.  Candidates will possess the following qualifications:
  • Minimum of five years’ work experience in not-for-profit and/or charitable fundraising activities
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, including with staff, service providers, Directors and volunteers
  • Strong marketing, communication & interpersonal skills, including confidence in presentations with private and corporate sectors, grant providers, donors and government
  • Desirable if the individual holds a Certified Fund Raising Executive designation
  • Class 5 Driver’s License and vehicle
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping and financial reporting an asset
  • Knowledge and experience in utilizing donor database (@Ease or Raiser’s Edge) an asset
  • Must pass a criminal record check
