Elk Valley Thrift Shop Society supports Health Care across the Valley

December 11, 2024

The Elk Valley Thrift Shop has made a $30,000 donation to health care facilities across the Elk Valley this year. The donation will be split with $10,000 each to the Elk Valley Hospital, Sparwood Health Centre, and the Elkford Health Centre. Funds will go towards new equipment purchases at each of the sites.

The Elk Valley Thrift Shop Society is a volunteer operated second hand store located in the Town Centre in Sparwood, B.C. They are a non-profit society that aims to give back to our communities and provide a clean, friendly, and organized shopping environment. They have donated over $850,000 to different community groups since their inception.

The East Kootenay Foundation for Health received the donation. On behalf of the staff and board at EKFH, we are honoured to have the Elk Valley Thrift Store’s ongoing support for improving health care in the valley and across the East Kootenay. To everyone who works, shops, or donates to the Thrift Store, thank you! You are helping save lives.
