About Us
East Kootenay Foundation for Health provides funding to the East Kootenay Interior Health region. This serves a catchment area of over 85,000 British Columbians and includes:
- East Kootenay Regional Hospital
- Creston Valley Hospital
- Elk Valley Hospital.
- Golden and District Hospital
- Invermere and District Hospital
We also provide funding for:
- Elkford Health Centre
- Kimberley Health Centre
- Sparwood Health Centre
- Columbia House
- Dr FW Green Home
- Durand Manor
- Kimberley Special Care Home
- Swan Valley Lodge
- and community health care programs throughout the East Kootenay Region.
EKFH relies on donations and gifts to provide vital, leading-edge medical equipment, and patient comforts to the East Kootenay Region. Donations can support a specific community facility; medical area of the donor’s choice or can be designated unrestricted to help areas of greatest need. Donating to EKFH helps ensure that we are able to provide up to date medical care for you, your family and friends, and your community.
Through the donations, EKFH strives to make sure the East Kootenay region is equipped with state-of-the-art technology for care and patient comfort. Well-equipped facilities help attract and keep highly-skilled medical personnel to live in East Kootenay and provide excellent medical service to East Kootenay residents.
Mission & Philosophy
Our mission is to provide funding for the East Kootenay Regional Hospital and other community facilities in complementing the health care needs of the region. We strive to:
- Improve/augment health care in the East Kootenay.
- Assist in funding.
- Develop trust with our donor base (stewardship).
- Develop community health needs awareness.
- Work collaboratively to make ourselves effective.
