Beneath the Surface Fundraising Campaign for Invermere Hospital Ultrasound complete.
April 2, 2025
East Kootenay Foundation for Health’s Beneath the Surface fundraising campaign has raised the $340,000 needed to bring ultrasound service to the Invermere District and Hospital.
The campaign started in January. It has been supported by $150,000 from the Invermere Health Care Auxiliary, $20,000 from the Panorama Foundation, and over $171,000 in donations from across the community.
The funds raised will cover costs including a state-of-the-art ultrasound machine, renovations to the room, and all the technology and accessories required to run the service. Work on the service is expected to begin shortly.
This service is a long-awaited addition that will be a major improvement for health care in the valley. Ultrasound is performed on every type of patient, in every area of care. Whether you are a pregnant mother, an elderly person having breathing problems, or a child with abdomen pains, ultrasound can help diagnose and treat a patient.
On behalf of Executive Director, Brenna Hong, “the EKFH is so grateful to the amazing community of Invermere for their dedication in improving health care for the Columbia Valley. We are so pleased that the Invermere and District Hospital will finally have their own ultrasound, saving residents travel and time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”
