Boston Pizza fundraiser donates $2,302 to East Kootenay NICU
July 17, 2024
Cranbrook Boston Pizza kicked off summer with a cheque presentation of the proceeds of their Valentine’s Day fundraiser to the East Kootenay Foundation for Health. They raised $2,302 for the foundation’s A Warm Embrace campaign with the sale of paper hearts, heart-shaped pizzas, and panookies. The donation will help bring a much-needed neonatal intensive care unit to East Kootenay Regional Hospital. Having a NICU in the region will save many families with premature babies the challenges and stresses of hospital stays across the province.
Boston Pizza’s Valentine’s Day fundraiser has supported many local organizations and projects in recent years. EKFH was excited to learn the NICU had been chosen for this year’s fundraiser. On behalf of our staff and board, we are so grateful to all the staff and guests who came together and showed their hearts for our region’s tiniest patients.
With the help of local businesses, community members, and organizations, the Warm Embrace Campaign has raised over $1 million towards it’s $1.8 million goal since launching last summer.
