Over $10,000 raised in honor of Everleigh Trimble to support A Warm Embrace

July 22, 2024

Everleigh, Tara-Leigh, and Dave Trimble presented a $7500 cheque on behalf of Kimberley Flooring in honor of Everleigh to the East Kootenay Foundation for Health’s Warm Embrace Campaign this July.

Everleigh has been the face of the Warm Embrace Campaign since it launched last summer, when Tara-Leigh and Dave shared the story of her whirlwind birth and unexpected week-long stay at the BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver. Having seen first-hand the technology, life-altering care in Vancouver, and the stress of being away from home, they wanted to help bring a small NICU to the East Kootenay so that families and babies are able to receive care close to home.

In addition to sharing Everleigh’s story, Tara-Leigh and Dave raised $7500.00 in proceeds and donations from their business, Kimberley Flooring, for the campaign. An additional $2500.00 in donations in honor of Everleigh have been made directly to EKFH and her story has inspired large donations from local health care auxiliaries and individuals across the region. EKFH’s Executive Director Brenna Baker says, “The Foundation is so grateful and thankful to Dave, Tara-Leigh and Everleigh for their amazing generosity and for sharing their story and spreading the word on how important this addition to the East Kootenay is. Since reaching out to us last summer, they’ve helped raised so much awareness and turned so many generous donations towards this campaign.”

A lifetime of gratitude and appreciation from the Trimble family goes to Dr Hugo, Dr Pienaar, Midwife Savan, Nurses Kristi-Lee, Rachel and the rest of the Maternity Ward, the OR staff, Specialty Care nurses, as well as the NICU at BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, and everyone else who was involved in Everleigh’s birth, resuscitations, and subsequent care. Everleigh is approaching her 1st birthday with a clean bill of health. She is full of smiles and always has lots to say. “We are so pleased to be able to support the Warm Embrace campaign and the families who come after us. The technology, education, and personnel the NICU will attract and provide is so important to the community. Thank you to all of those who have donated so far!”

With the support of families like Everleigh, Tara-Leigh, and Dave, the Warm Embrace Campaign has raised over $1 million towards its $1.8 million goal to bring a NICU to the East Kootenay Regional Hospital. Learn more and donate here.
