Invermere, Jun 8th, 2010 … The Rotary Club of Invermere was recently recognized for its gift to the Invermere ER, now it is the acute care side of the hospital that will benefit from the club’s hard work and fundraising intiatitves.

L-R: Milt Deck (Rotary), Erica Phillips (Health Administrator Invermere/Golden), President Les Zuffa (Rotary), Sheilah Moore (EKRH Director) and Jason Giesbrecht (Director of Acute Care Services)

Last week the Rotarians presented a $20,000 cheque to be dedicated towards purchasing two ceiling lifts for the Invermere District Hospital. The generosity of this gift will not only assist in patient care but also provide safety and efficiency for staff members. With new protocols in place regarding safe lifting and transition of patients to and from beds, chairs, etc. the lifts will make a indellible positive addition at the hospital.

East Kootenay Foundation for Health wishes to recognize the Rotary Club of Invermere, its members and the community at large for supporting Rotary fundraising initiatives, without this support the purchase of these lifts would not have been possible.
