Denham Ford and EKC help the East Kootenay High Acuity Response Team (HART) save lives

Denham Ford has donated $3,535 to support the important work of the High Acuity Response Team (HART).

Steve Zsillei and the entire team at Denham Ford believe this fundraising effort is very important to the East Kootenay. “At Denham Ford, we feel that it is important to support rural health care, as a lot of our customers are rural and they support us,” Zsillei said. “We see how critical the transport ventilator is to the life saving work that the HART team does, so it was an easy decision. We are so very grateful for the communities that we serve in the East Kootenay! Thank you to HART and the East Kootenay Foundation (for Health) for all of the great work that you do. We encourage other organizations to get on board to support EKFH and the HART program.” Denham Ford raised these funds through the Starlite Campaign and matched donations from their wonderful customers and friends. The East Kootenay Community Credit Union (EKC) has teamed up with EKFH to raise $60,000 to purchase a life-saving transport ventilator. The partners are currently launching a sponsorship funding campaign to raise money for specialized equipment so HART can continue to use the best, most
current equipment and technology available. EKC kicked off this campaign by donating $2500.00 to HART.

HART is made up of Critical Care Nurses and Respiratory Therapists and works in partnership with BC Ambulance Service to bring critical care support to rural hospitals. When higher levels of care are necessary, HART transports patients to centres like the East Kootenay Regional Hospital and hospitals in Calgary and Kelowna. This transport includes bringing specialized monitoring equipment, medication administration, and clinicians providing advanced interventions at the patient’s bedside and during transport.

Please support the EK HART team, and support health care in your community by donating to this campaign. For more information please contact the East Kootenay Foundation for Health at ekfh.ca or call 250-489-6481. Donations can also be made in Elkford, Fernie, Sparwood and the Cranbrook branch of EKC.
