EKFH’s Starlite Campaign Takes on Different Glow for 2012 Campaign

Submitted by EKFH on 27-11-2012

CRANBROOK, BC… The holiday season has arrived and it’s that time of year when East Kootenay Foundation for Health launches its annual giving campaign, the Starlite Campaign for Excellence in Health Care. Together with the East Kootenay Community Credit Union (our first star sponsor for the last five years) they have encouraged the public to help light 17 stars atop the regional hospital ($5,000 per star) to raise funds for a specific piece of equipment or health care program.

Over those five Starlite years, you ~ Our Stars have graciously gifted over $296,604 in funding for seniors, children and community programs and health care equipment for many areas of care including oncology, extended care homes, palliative, emergency and intensive care, diagnostic imaging, renal services, mental health, surgical & operating rooms and so much more.

This year the Starlite Campaign will take on a different glow. You helped make history thirteen months ahead of schedule to bring a $1 million digital stereotactic mammography unit to the regional hospital. The outpouring of support was overwhelming so in your honour all stars will be lit at once and will remain glowing from the end of November to the 31 January 2013. It is our small way of saying thanks.

We are grateful to many in the East Kootenay for helping EKFH to sustain the worthwhile work that has helped our foundation to support the East Kootenay Regional Hospital and other health care facilities in meeting the needs of the region.

Over the past 29 years your support of EKFH’s mission has made a noticeable improvement in the quality of health care in the East Kootenay. Our commitment for continuing this work is strong and we are looking to the future with BIG dreams for our region. Your help plays a BIG part in our ability to make a difference. And that’s why your gift to the 2012 Starlite Campaign is so vital.

The demands being placed on our regional and community hospitals continue to grow. Your support of EKFH strengthens the ability to purchase much-needed medical equipment, supports various hospital and community programs while maintaining the quality of care you’ve come to expect.

We are inviting you to again invest in the health of your family and your community. Our work depends on your help. As you know, medical equipment is costly. Because your past support has made a difference, we’re asking you today if you could manage to send us a gift that helps EKFH to grow.

An undesignated gift to the General Fund provides the East Kootenay Foundation for Health with the flexibility to support these initiatives today, tomorrow and into the future. By doing so you will help us to continually meet the expanded needs of those we serve.

Every dollar makes a difference in lives saved and health restored. May we please ask you to make your first donation and/or to renew your support today by sending EKFH a gift by donating on-line through our secured website www.ekfh.ca, by mail to 13 24th Ave N, Cranbrook, BC V1C 3H9 or at the EKFH office at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital? You may also make donations at our East Kootenay Community Credit Union (the Starlite Sponsor) branches in Cranbrook, Fernie, Sparwood or Elkford.
