Kimberley Health Care Auxiliary Lights #7

Kimberley, BC….

Photo Details: Members of the Kimberley Health Care Auxiliary (Gayle Shay, Mary Park, Heather Forster, Heather MacKenzie, and President Mary Davies) recently invited EKFH Executive Director, Donna Grainger to the Kimberley Special Care Home to celebrate two major initiatives.

The first being a $5,000 donation to the 2011 Starlite Campaign in support of the digital stereotactic mammography unit and to light star #7 at the regional hospital.

And the second being the arrival of a blanket warmer for the Kimberley residential care unit, thanks to the proceeds from the Auxiliary’s 2010 Starlite donation.

The proceeds for these much-needed pieces of equipment are due in part to the diligence and hard-work of the volunteers at the Kimberley Health Care Auxiliary’s two Thrift Stores (one in Kimberley and the other Marysville). Volunteers dedicate their time to sort, prepare, display and sell a variety of items donated by generous individuals with proceeds going back into either, the Kimberley Special Care Home, the East Kootenay Regional Hospital or other programs benefitting seniors in the Kimberley area.

EKFH sincerely thanks the Kimberley Health Care Auxiliary for its dedication to its community and for their ongoing support of regional fundraising campaigns.

L-R: Welcoming the arrival of the new blanket warmer are: Gayle Shay, Mary Park, Heather Forster, Mary Davies, Vi Pelton are joined by Tamie Murray (RN) and Kimberley Special Care Home resident Mary Toews.
