Cranbrook, BC… East Kootenay Foundation for Health is proud to announce the lighting of star #8 as part of the 3rd annual Starlite Campaign for Excellence in Health Care Campaign. The recent gift is thanks to the hardworking members of the Kimberley Health Care Auxiliary who are dedicating their $5,000 gift to the seniors’ recreation program at the Kimberley Special Care Home.

The auxiliary and foundation have been working together over the past several years and details of the actual Starlite gift allotment will be announced in January after the two groups meet with Interior Health to determine the area of greatest need.

The funds raised by Kimberley Health Care Auxiliary are from the proceeds of their two Kimberley thrift stores.

The Starlite Campaign for Excellence for Health Care campaign to date has lit 8 shining stars for a total of $44,682 in donations.

The campaign’s focus this year is on seniors with hopes of supporting recreational programs in seniors residential care facilities in Cranbrook, Kimberley, Elk Valley, Creston, Invermere and Golden. The campaign runs through to the end of January 2011.
