Kinette Club supports Newborns with 2nd Annual Evening of Elegance

The Kinette Club is presenting its 2nd annual black tie event to benefit women and children with this year’s proceeds being dedicated to help purchase an infant radiant warmer for the maternity unit at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

R-L:  Crystal Kenyon, President & Anita Llewellyn, Past President of the Kinette Club of Cranbrook go through their checklist of organizing details for the Kinettes upcoming Evening of Elegance.

Working together with East Kootenay Foundation for Health the infant radiant warmer is a much-needed addition to a very busy maternity unit.  All newborns born at the regional hospital will make their way into the world with time spent on the infant radiant warmer.  The radiant warmer keeps the baby warm so that the physicians and nurses can complete a head to toe assessment after delivery.

In 2009 just fewer than 500 newborns required time on an infant radiant warmer.  This newest piece of equipment will replace one of the existing and aging warmers.
The infant radiant warmer comes at a cost of just over $23,000 and the Kinette Club of Cranbrook hopes to do their part by raising $5,000 towards its purchase.

The 2nd Annual Evening of Elegance is Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Prestige Rocky Mountain Resort.  Tickets are $75 per person for an evening of champagne, raffles, auctions, dinner and dancing.   To order your tickets contact Anita Llewellyn at 250 -919-2667 or call EKFH at 250-489-6481.
