Cranbrook, BC…   It’s a combination of donations that is bringing the twelve star to life at the regional hospital as part of East Kootenay Foundation for Health’s annual Starlite Campaign.

The generosity of donations from East Kootenay residents, from hockey fans and supporters of the Matt Fraser & Denny’s Shoot for the Star fundraiser, a major gift from a former EKFH board member who recently moved from Cranbrook and the most recent donation by local physician, Dr. Ken Brown, his wife Nancy and family continues to lead the campaign for excellence in health care toward its $85,000 fundraising goal.

“With amazing community support in a tough economic year, EKFH is thrilled with the campaign’s current results.  With the public’s help we have surpassed last year’s fundraising total and continue to encourage donations to help all areas of health care,” says Donna Grainger, Executive Director.

The lighting of the latest star, out of seventeen, is witness to $61,018.77 in donations to EKFH’s general unrestricted fund for the area of greatest need and to many other areas of health care funds and East Kootenay facilities.

The campaign runs until the end of the month.  To make a donation to the Starlite Campaign for Excellence in Health Care please visit us at www.ekfh.ca.
