Smile Cookies to Support Creston Valley Hospital

Creston, BC…   William Arthur Ward’s quote “a warm smile is the universal language of kindness” couldn’t be more appropriate for those living in the Creston Valley.  The newly opened Tim Hortons is pleased to announce its participation in the franchise’s national Smile Cookie Campaign with all proceeds going from the cookie sales to purchase medical equipment for the Creston Valley Hospital.

Scott Seitz, Tim Hortons’ Creston Manager explains, “For the past 3 years our Tim Hortons store in Cranbrook partnered with East Kootenay Foundation for Health (EKFH) and the Cranbrook Health Care Auxiliary and sold cases of cookies resulting in several pieces of new equipment for the regional hospital.  Moving to my new home of Creston there was no doubt that we want our team here to also give back to the community.  So with that in mind we are partnering with Interior Health and the ladies of the Creston Valley Hospital Tuck Shop to sell smile cookies for the benefit of our local hospital.”

This inaugural launch of the Creston Smile Cookie Campaign comes with the hopes of selling 15 cases (2,160 cookies).  The specially baked smiling chocolate chip cookies are only available for a short time.

Cookies can be purchased individually ($1.12 each cookie), by the ? or dozen or for the brave of heart a case of 144 cookies for $161.28.  To order ahead, simply call Tim Hortons at 250-402-0062.

Whether you take the cookies home, share them with your friends, or donate them to a favourite charity or food bank, your purchase of these special cookies makes a real difference.

The Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie campaign runs from September 20-16 with all monies raised going to purchase a safety scale for the Creston Valley Hospital inpatient unit.  “This scale has a broader base to stand on and hand rails so patients can hold onto as they step on and off the scale.  The purchase of this scale supports Creston Valley Hospital’s commitment to safe and quality health care.  This scale will support the care of our frail and elderly patient population and supports Interior Health’s Falls Prevention Program initiatives,” explains Carolyn Zacharuk, CVH Site Manager.
