Starlite Donation Literally Brightens Smiles

Cranbrook, BC…    The Interior Health Residential Care Teams are busy preparing holiday stockings for the residents of the Dr. F. W. Green Home and the Kimberley Special Care Home and thanks to local dentist Dr. Craig Spowart the stockings are getting an extra special something.

“Health care for our seniors in residential facilities means many things.  Thanks to Dr. Spowart, the concern for dental health of the residents is being addressed with a wonderful donation of 75 toothbrushes and tubes of toothpaste plus 24 denture brushes which will be placed in the residents’ Christmas stockings.   When I called the Green & Kimberley Special Care Home to tell them about Dr. Spowart’s gift, the toothbrushes were welcomed like the first snowfall on a ski hill.  It really brought a smile to my face,” explains Donna Grainger, EKFH Executive Director.

No matter where a senior in your life lives, sometimes it may be the simplest and most essential of gifts that can make a difference.

EKFH’s Starlite Campaign is focused on seniors as our stars with hopes of lighting 17 stars and raising $85,000 for health care in the East Kootenay.
