Stars Fade on Seasonal Campaign with $63,643 in donations

Cranbrook, BC   Just a few short months ago East Kootenay Foundation for Health launched its 2nd annual Starlite Campaign for Excellence in Health Care with a goal of raising $85,000.

Although the major fundraising goal was not reached, the generosity of donors from all over the East Kootenay and elsewhere has resulted in $63,643.77 to be allocated to areas of care and health care facilities in the region.   The second year event surpassed its inaugural launch by over $8,600 and the Board of Directors of the regional hospital foundation are ecstatic with the results.

“As said previously the push for $85,000 was going to be a challenge but no matter what the end result in dollars and cents is, it is more than EKFH had yesterday.  All donations EKFH receives play a critical role in our mission to provide funding for the East Kootenay Regional Hospital and other community health care facilities in meeting the needs of the region,” explains Donna Grainger, Executive Director.

The Starlite Campaign resulted in 12 out of 17 hand-made stars being lit in response to the many generous donations including:

EKFH wishes to publicly thank our Star Sponsor, East Kootenay Community Credit Union and its branches in Cranbrook, Fernie and Elkford; Matt Fraser and Denny’s Restaurants of Canada for the Shoot for the Star fundraiser; to those who lit their own personal star with a corporate and/or personal donation and to all those who chose EKFH as a beneficiary in your charitable giving.    We would be remiss if we did not  also thank Wilkinson Steel, Martech Electrical Systems and the amazing “Starmakers” of East Kootenay Regional Hospital for our beautifully hand-crafted stars.
