Steppin’ Out at Lillith Affair for Mammography

Submitted by EKFH on 20-01-2012

Kimberley, BC… Singing, dancing and musical theatre are just part of the all-women’s extravaganza called Lillith Affair.

But for charities, in this case East Kootenay Foundation for Health and the Centre 64 Expansion, it is called generosity at its best.

“I was sitting at my desk one morning when this huge smiling face (compliments of Cynthia Peacosh) came rushing in and shared, our Steppin’ Out Dancers are so excited… we are going to be sending some proceeds from our annual Lillith Affair to the A Clear View campaign,” explains Donna Grainger, EKFH Executive Director.

It is moments like these that have women caring for women which are what this entertaining showcase is all about.

Entering its 12th year, the show hosted by Kimberley’s Steppin’ Out Dancers has helped many charities over the years and now the drive to bring a digital stereotactic mammography unit to the East Kootenay Regional Hospital will benefit from that tremendous female energy.

Lillith Affair is a girls’ only night out (must be 19 and over) and is assured to fill the house during its 3-day run, February 23-25 at Centre 64 in Kimberley.

Tickets are $25 each and on sale now at Lotus Books (Cranbrook), Natural Attractions (Kimberley) and Sole to Soul (Marysville).

If you are planning to attend, the Steppin’ Out Dancers are encouraging everyone to bring a package of much needed feminine supplies that will be donated by Lillith Affair to the Women’s Shelter in Cranbrook.

The A Clear View ~ digital mammography campaign is a 2-year, $1 million fundraising effort and with organizations such as the Steppin’ Out Dancers the goal is within reach.
