Telus Foundation, Community Connections & Ambassadors bring Hospitals Smiles

Submitted by EKFH on 18-11-2014

Cranbrook, BC…. Hospitals in Fernie, Invermere, Creston, Golden and Cranbrook received some surprise gifts for their maternity units this week when Telus Community Ambassadors (East Kootenay) dropped by EKFH to deliver baby bags and Telus Critters for the area hospitals.

The baby bags are an ongoing priority for the Telus Ambassadors who make up bags for needy families that include infant items, hand-knit sweaters and much more. The regional Telus Baby Bag Program has been underway for the past several years and is a welcomed addition on the maternity floors of all the regional facilities.

Telus Community Ambassador’s President Edith LeClair and Charlene Rothwell (Baby Bag Program Chair) brought some additional goodies this visit with a supply of cuddly Telus Critters for the maternity units and the regional hospital emergency department and psychiatry unit.

An ever bigger surprise was for EKFH when the two presented the foundation with a donation of $690.29 from the Telus Foundation & Community Connections for EKFH’s annual Starlite Campaign.

Telus, its corporation, its staff and retirees continue to bring smiles to hospitals in the East Kootenay. To donate to your local or regional hospital go to www.ekfh.ca.
