Annual cookie fundraiser runs September 17-23, 2012

Cranbrook, BC– Tim Hortons is bringing more smiles to Cranbrook with the launch of the annual Smile Cookie fundraiser. For one week starting September 17, Tim Hortons restaurant owners in Cranbrook will generously donate all proceeds from sales of a special smiling chocolate chunk cookie to the Cranbrook Health Care Auxiliary and the East Kootenay Foundation for Health. The $1 treat helps charities, hospitals and community programs across Canada in the cities where they are sold. For CHCA and EKFH this means the opportunity to purchase a patient ceiling lift for the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

“On behalf of all restaurant owners and team members in Cranbrook, I would like to thank our loyal guests for their generosity and support of the Smile Cookie campaign,” said Matt Gareau, Tim Hortons Restaurant Owner in Cranbrook. “Tim Hortons is thrilled to support the Cranbrook Health Care Auxiliary and the East Kootenay Foundation for Health with the funds raised and brings smiles to so many people’s faces. We welcome everyone to come in during Smile Cookie week at either of our Tim Hortons outlets or drop by the regional hospital to buy a delicious freshly-baked Smile Cookie in support of a great cause. “

Kate Fox, the CHCA Smile Cookie Campaign Coordinator, “Since 2006 the Cranbrook Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign and the generosity from cookie purchasers has benefitted from over $45,200 in funding for various pieces of equipment for the East Kootenay Regional Hospital such as equipment for the surgical and diagnostic imaging areas, pediatrics unit and a special therapeutic activity room. “
